Children will be instantly drawn to this beautiful set. Matching photo cards accompany the 16 shells.
First, teach the names of the shells: knobbed whelk, green limpet, calico scallop... .
Then, proceed through the activities one at a time: match each specimen to its photo card, read the names, and then match the labels to each shell.
Next, shells can then be sorted into categories: gastropods and bivalves. For Primary and Early Elementary children ages 3 - 9.

16 double-sided, coated cardstock cards are 4⅛" x 5½". On the reverse of each photo card is a photo taken in the wild and text about the live animal.
Ecologically harvested shells range from 1" - 6".(Color and size of shells vary.)
