I purchased this dish to use in a leaf cleaning / plant washing Practical Life exercise for the Infant Community. I love the way the dish perfectly matches the theme of the work. It brings in an opportunity for language enrichment and a sensorial experience of leaf shapes, as preparation for the botany work coming in the future. The dish is perfect in size for young hands, and the material allows the child to experience working with a beautiful, fragile object. I cut a green sponge to the same outer shape and place it in the dish, and place those two items and a small porcelaine pitcher(also purchased through Montessori Services) on a small tray with a leaf motif. The set looks and works beautifully.
