My 6 year old son has been learning letter sounds in kindergarten but has been reluctant to tackle words on a page so this was a perfect "game" for him to get comfortable with reading. After sitting together the first time (and just starting with a half dozen as the instructions indicated) he now does the whole box confidently by himself. The items are amazingly detailed and a good mix of textures and sizes as well. I would recommend this for any emerging reader!
This box is perfect for children who are starting to blend 3 letter words. It gives them confidence when they can pick the object up and hold it after they sound out the matching card. My daughter loves to do this work.
This is a great beginner phonetic objects box, with sturdy easy-to-understand objects and nicely printed cards. This kit can easily be added on to with objects from around your house or from other kits purchased from Montessori Services. It would be nice if the pan, pot, and lid were easier to distinguish as they are now the same color and similar shape.
