Today we would be surprised to see adult-size desks in a classroom. When Montessori realized that child-size classroom furniture would enhance learning, it was a ground breaking idea.
Much later, during her stay in India, Montessori used the East Indian "chowki" (low stool) as tables for children. Like the Indian "chowki" Montessori used, these low tables allow children to sit and work in comfort.
With their 9" and 13" high tabletops, these two floor tables offer similar benefits. Children can write or draw while sitting comfortably on the floor.
Tables expand classroom workspace and help keep the work out of harm's way; both sizes offer presentation surfaces at the child's level.
The surface of the Large (LC08) measures 24" x 18"; 13" high and the Small (LC07) is 17" x 13"; 9" high.

Nesting Floor Tables Set of 2 tables from LORD Company
My toddler/preschooler can sit in a 7 1/2 inch chair at the higher table and kneels easily at the smaller table. Great for practical life activities and a great size for math works, too. The larger table can act as a weaning table as well.

We ordered these tables when our enrollment increased and we needed to maximize space. We wanted more tables, especially for individual work spaces.
