After learning the names of the animals and where they live, children can sort these animal picture cards under the seven continent labels, or under the appropriate pieces of your Montessori World Puzzle Map.
Children can use photocopied replicards (5½" x 4¼", after cutting) to make booklets; each sheet shows one continent and five animals indigenous to it.
Set includes 35 animal cards (3" x 3½"), 7 label cards, and 7 cardstock replicards. Cards and labels are laminated and need to be cut apart by the teacher after receipt. Ages 4-7.
Animals represented:
Africa: camel, elephant, gazelle, hornbill, lion
Asia: cobra, mandarin duck, panda, tiger, water buffalo
Australia: black swan, kangaroo, koala, lyrebird, platypus
Europe: deer, red squirrel, stork, wild boar, wolf
North America: balk eagle, beaver, bison, moose, raccoon
South America: anteater, armadillo, llama, monkey, parrot
Animals of Seven Continents Classification Cards & Replicards from In-Print For Children
These cards used to be made of some sort of heavy cardstock. Now they are made of straight up hard plastic. The concept is brilliant, the images are nicely printed, but I'd prefer them to be easier and more approachable to work with.
