Great for fruit and vegetable cutting, this knife has a stainless steel blade with a rounded safety tip.
We strongly recommend that adults have confidence in children's abilities before introducing a sharp knife.
Let children practice with a wooden or plastic knife and play dough. Before allowing a child access to a sharp implement, an individual presentation is a must. Varnished hardwood handle. 8¼" long. Ages 5+ with adult supervision.
Please note: This knife is a serrated (adult) steak knife with a rounded tip. It is an ideal first sharp knife because of its size and weight.

Our normal serrated knives were too long and unwieldy for the kids to use safely. This is sharp enough to power through carrots and slices tomatoes without tearing them to shreds.
This is a staple in our Primary classrooms for cutting exercises. Once a child moves past the chopper and needs a new challenge, this is a great first knife. Sharp enough to cut, but the blunt end keeps it safe. Thanks for carrying this item.
This knife is perfect for introducing food preparation to young children. The serrated cutting surface and flat top along with the blunt tip make identifying the sharp cutting edge easy enough for even my two year old to understand. He loves helping me cut fruits and vegetables for meals.
I was expecting a higher quality product. Very flimsy, I am pretty sure it won't last very long. The weight and size are nice, the blunt tips will make this a nice starting knife for vegetable cutting with children - but the quality doesn't make this a worthy buy.
I have used this in my 18 mo - 3 yr community for 16 yrs. The blunt tip is a must for moments of distraction, the serrated edge is a perfect cutting edge to get the job done and the child immediately has the sensation in her finger if it gets too close. Also, they last forever. I have several in my Home Resource Studio for demonstrating to parents how successful the child can be with slicing activities.
I bought this to provide a safe environment for my children to help in the kitchen while at the same time nurturing self-confidence. Rather than say, "No, you can't use the knife you might cut yourself." I am able to say, "Yes, you may use your knife to cut that apple.
While the blunt tip is a good, safe feature, it is a regularly sized knife, not child sized. This was not what I had expected. Too long of a blade and handle for very good control in a child's hand.
