This whistle was a gift for my 4 year old daughter. The size is nice, and I like that it's made out of wood. The problem is that it doesn't whistle very well. Depending on how far the slide is extended, in some positions it doesn't produce a noise when you blow. In general, even when there is a sound produced, the sound is very weak and airy. My daughter picks it up and plays with it occasionally, but not very often and it doesn't usually hold her attention for long. It's frustrating that there isn't a continuation of sound as the slide is moved in and out.
